Bus Lane Drivers Given Tickets

Alert message sent 21/02/2012 09:33:00
Information sent on behalf of Nottinghamshire Police

Dear All

In response to several complaints about vehicles being driven down the Bus Lane on Derby Road towards Priory Island, the local Beat Teams carried out stop checks on Monday 20th February between 7.00am – 9.00am.

A total of 12 tickets were issued to drivers.

In addition to this, a vehicle was seen to pull out in front of a bus which then caused an accident involving 3 cars and the bus. Thankfully there were no serious injuries but it could have been far worse. This highlights the importance of not driving in a Bus Lane.

This was a successful short operation and we will be running these on a more regular basis from now on.

Kind Regards

PCSO 8199 Deb Richards
